The Main Priorities for the
Third Millennium

If we take a look on what is happening in the world, and the beginning of a third millennium is considered to be the time of correction of our mistakes, so the nowadays youth will have to work very hard.
Let's consider the main problems of nowadays.
1.1. Ecology in my native city.
From the very beginning of our existence the man used the nature in his own targets. He fells the forests, drys up the lakes, destroys the animals' groups. All the chemical substances are washed off the fields by the rain and slow into the rivers, lakes, seas and oceans. After the acid rains we have a lot of dead fish, sick trees, plants, water and soil. Deforestation destroys the lungs of our planet. All of these factors destroy the Eco-balance of the Earth, accepted for centuries. Especially the problem of ecology became more actual at the end of the 20-century.
The level of the "ecological frequency" became lower on more than 58% (in comparison with the fiqures of the beginning and the end of the century).
Social ecological situation in my native city is about critical. From factors, which influence the health of a person, we can choose.
There are 14,3 kg of contaminating substances on every person in our city from plants and factories.
In general, 36,8 thousand tons of unhealthy substances are thrown out in the atmosphere every year. Industrial waste materials have a lot of hazardous substances: lead, mercury, chrome and so on. They are attributed to the first class of danger substances. And if they join with the nitric oxide and sulphureous anhydride we'll get rather dangerous "bunch", which influences the organism of a person slowly and ruinously. On the industrial enterprise are stored 3 million tons of toxic materials. They are situated on the square of 600 hectares.
We can see them just everywhere, on the benches of the rivers, on the shores of the Black Sea.
Even a little concentration of the lead can be harmful to our health. One molecule of benzene, which comes into the blood of a pregnant woman, can provoke cancer and other terrible diseases. The middle duration of life in Ukraine is 59,5 years, and in other countries it is higher than 70. That's why I think our government must pay more attention to these problems.
Drinking water in my city is far from the standards. Until it comes to the running water from the place, where it is taken, it becomes of low-grade. At homes it must be again filtered.
Soil is considered as the basic part of biosphere, because great parts of plants of our planet are situated on it. The soil is the main sours of food and power potential forage the inhabitants. The soil feeds not only the inhabitants of the Earth; it feeds the inhabitants of the seas. The sea micro-organisms get carbon, nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus from the sewage, which get to the ocean. Waste materials from apiculture, stock raising, petroleum and industrial waste materials pollute soil. Toxic waste materials through the soil get into the plants, animals, and food and into the bodies of animals and human beings.
Hazardous substances are accumulated in bottom sediments, benthos aquafic plants and fish.
Products, which accumulated by biological, chemical and radioactive disposition, provoke in the human bodies' mutation processes.
The level of pollution of the soil in Odessa is high where the main polluting substances are the lead chrome and mercury.
There are 16 anomalous places with high level of chrome and 19 places with high level of cobalt in the districts of "Lenposiolok", "Krivaya Balka", and a plant "Stalkanat" and others. There is no clean place in our city.
Every year 100-kg of lead, 30 kg of tin, 4,5 tons of combinations of manganese, 2 tons of copper, 2,5 tons of cynic and 1 ton of chrome appear in the atmosphere and soil.
A danger for the city offers the Oil Refinery and the South Chemical Port-plant. There are four repositories full of fluid ammonia. There is a danger of over-loading. Oil refinery this is a real danger of the underground fire too.
There is another problem, which is rather important. It is the situation on the Black Sea. Our bay is polluted by the petroleum, which is accumulated in bottom sediments. The bottom is polluted by sulphuretted hydrogen.
The quantity of fish for fishing industry is diminished from 30 to 5classes. Toxic substances, which come into the sea, bring down the concentration of oxygen that breaks the ecology of the sea. Because of the shortage of oxygen there is a lot of sulphuretted hydrogen and it means that inhabitants of spit perish. For the first time the sea began "blooming" in 70 th. Plankton had perished and phytoplankton had mineralised. When plankton had perished half-life bullhead went to the shore. From 1980 "blooming" of the sea became more frequent.
In the 90 th the situation became better, but "blooming" of the sea still continue. On the territory which made up 30% of the sea spit.
Seawater polluted by the radionuclides after the nuclear explosion on the Chernobyl NPS too. They went into the atmosphere then in the Pripyat, in the Dnieper and then into the Black Sea. Our generation must at last realise the importance of high level of the democracy, collective mind, and collective ecological consciousness in the reception of the state decisions in solving all ecological problems. The youth of the XXI century must stand in the first lines of the movement for better Earth. The task of every person today is to save our nature for the future generations.
The problem of "Peace on the Earth" is a very big problem, especially nowadays. A lot of countries has nuclear weapon, that's why we mustn't allow the World War III it is the death for our planet and us. Rather good decision is to refuse from the nuclear weapon. "Peace on the Earth" depends on many factors, on politics first of all. What is happening nowadays in Yugoslavia can turn into the greatest disaster ever happened. That's why the Youth must decide all the conflicts only in a peaceful way.
Drugs' problem is a great problem nowadays. The quantity of the drug users and drug sallers grows very fast. Government isn't able to cope with the drug wave, which has overflown the U.S.A. and Europe. Unsanitary use of the drugs often results in AID the most awful disease in which more, than 2 mln people are infectioned with. Besides the AID there are a lot of other awful diseases in the undeveloped countries, such as, cholera, malaria, black death and so on. The problems connected with the radiation became more vivid after the catastrophe in Chernobyl.
Problems connected with education are very serious too. In some countries a lot of people have no education, they even don't know how to read and to write. Nowadays culture craves down. On television we watch nothing except murders, swearing, banalities, violence and other things. Nowadays youth watches all this from the early years and this influenses their souls and hearts. The language we talk is full of abuse and caddishness.
To the priorities of the third millennium we can attribute I think the priority of art, which plays an important role in the spirit development of a person.
I'll pay my attention to the music because on the one hand I like and study music from my childhood, on the other hand, since the times immemorial it is considered to be one of the most amazing kinds of art from the point view of influence on the man. Not by chance the ancient musicians were put on the same step with the gods and in the ancient Egypt even with pharaohs. Great scientists in the antique times underlined an importance of music even on the national level "The better is the music, the better is the state".
What is happening in the music now, on the threshold of the third millennium? On what depends the condition of the music nowadays?
The main place in the musical life is caught by the pop-music. This is a huge industry, which includes different styles and directions, which "plays" on the low tastes of the youth and brings great profits to the organisers. Pop-music conquers concert grounds, radio, television, and the main place in the minds and hearts of the children. It's true that not all pop-music is bad, but it's so hard to sort out in the great number of hits so the youth listens all in succession without any analysis. Generally, the base of such music is a hard rhythm, primitive melody and poor texts. And if to add deafening laundress and great energy of the aggressive rhythms which is multiply on the thousands of people we can sea a picture of "mass action" which sometimes leads to unfortunate results.
Investigations of the scientists prove that in contradistinction to such music that provokes aggressive feelings, contaminating the soul by "musical waste materials" classical music, especially Bethoven, Chaikovsky, Rahmaninov possesses a function of regeneration. It beneficially influences the growth of the plants and animals. For example, under classical music grows milking of cows, children who listen such music in the womb birth quiet and healthy. This music has health giving properties. That's why people who suffer from nervous disease must get some performances of musical therapeutics which helps them to restore the harmony in their consciousness and perception of the life. That's why classical and good modern music we can name "ecological clean music" which must sound more often. This music must be supported and advertised by modern singers, such as Pavorotti, Koreras, Domingo, Cabalie, who unite their efforts with famous singers for the sake of common business to enter the third millennium with cle an hearts and souls.
